Our theme for this week has been expressive art & design. We have incorporated this a lot into our activities, which has brought so much fun to the forest! ✨
We started off our creations with nature collages, our little ones went around our forest with Connie and each collected an abundance of items, ranging from sticks and leaves to Pom Poms and string. They brought these items back over to the craft area and used some glue to put their collages together. Each creation was super unique and some of our little ones even explained what each item represented in their picture!
Our artists have definitely had a favourite media this week ✨Clay✨!
We had so many different items being made, from teapots and tea cups to pizzas and bugs. It’s always nice seeing what they are able to come up with when creating with clay!
This week we also celebrated World Bee Day! Everyone loves the bees in our forest, so we absolutely had to make sure we all got involved in the celebration!
Alongside Kitz, our little explorers made their very own bumblebee handprints. Alternating stripes between black and yellow on the palm of their hands, they then pressed them onto some paper. Everyone was very impressed with how their imprints came out, and then afterwards we added the eyes, wings and little legs. This was a great opportunity to talk about how important bees are and what they do as pollinators 🐝
As well as this, we got up to so much more and the imagination and creativity really shone from all our adventurers, which has been amazing to see ✨
We hope you all have a wonderful bank holiday weekend! ✨
