The forest has been bustling with creativity, focus and the sweet scent of elderflowers this week! Our Little Forest Folk-ers have continued their exciting journey into the world of construction - but this time, with a finer touch.
Instead of our usual large-scale cardboard and tape masterpieces, this week was all about the little details. Our curious creators worked with clay to make their very own tiny pots, perfect for holding forest treasures. The children showed such concentration and enthusiasm - many even made more than one to take home! Once their masterpieces dried, the painting began. Splashes of colour, patterns and careful brushwork made each pot uniquely special.
As the week unfolded, our clay adventures took a literary turn. Our Little Forest Folk-ers explored letter recognition by shaping their initials and letter sounds from clay. It was a wonderful blend of creativity and early literacy, with lots of proud smiles as they showed off their beautiful handmade letters.
Later in the week, the forest buzzed with excitement as the children began a very special project: making elderflower cordial! With baskets in hand, they foraged for just the right blossoms, carefully measured sugar and water, and created their very own magical mix. After steeping for a couple of days, their efforts were bottled up and ready to bring home by the end of the week - a true taste of the forest!
A friendly reminder that we are closed on Monday and next week is half term! Have a brilliant long weekend!
