We’ve been bursting with excitement and now that it’s the Queen’s birthday and the official announcement day, we are absolutely delighted to finally share with you the news that Little Forest Folk has been given the royal seal of approval.
Following our being selected by Tatler as being one of the finest nurseries in the nation last month, we are now delighted to share with you an article written about Little Forest Folk by a journalist who visited us in our Wimbledon setting a few weeks ago.
Well, this weekend was the long awaited Nursery World Awards! It was a fabulous event and we were delighted to be recognised in such a large industry such as the early years to be one of the industry leaders.
This week has been filled with exciting adventures, imaginative play, and wonderful opportunities for the children to explore, create, and learn through meaningful experiences in our forest environment. From storytelling and creative art to sensory exploration and scientific discovery, the children embraced each activity with enthusiasm and curiosity.
Another brilliant week and the children embraced every opportunity to learn through play, enjoying a variety of exciting activities that encouraged creativity, teamwork, problem-solving and physical development. From imaginative role play to outdoor adventures, it has been a fantastic week filled with laughter, exploration and memorable experiences.
What an incredible week we've had at Little Forest Folk Putney Heath! While the summer sunshine certainly turned up the heat, our woodland canopy provided the perfect shady retreat, allowing the children to enjoy every adventure while staying cool, comfortable and ready to explore. With plenty of water, laughter and curiosity, this week has been packed with memorable moments.
What a fantastic week we have had in the forest! The children have enjoyed a wide variety of exciting activities, all centred around creativity, exploration, teamwork, and caring for the environment. From nature-inspired crafts to eco-projects and imaginative play, there has been plenty to keep everyone busy and engaged.
This week has definitely been an adventurous one, with lots of rain and thunderstorms. Despite the change in weather, the children have adapted fantastically well. It has been quite a contrast to last week, when the weather was warm and muggy. Throughout the week, we have been exploring emotions and feelings through a variety of exciting activities.
What an incredible week we have shared together in the forest! Across the week, the children demonstrated creativity, resilience, teamwork, curiosity and a true sense of adventure as they explored the ever-changing outdoor environment. From pirate-themed role play to musical exploration, mud kitchen creations, climbing challenges and dramatic weather experiences, every day brought exciting opportunities for learning and discovery.
The children took part in several beautiful Easter crafts. They carefully cut and painted ducks, mixing yellow, white and brown paints to design their own unique chicks. Once the paint had dried, they finished their creations by adding colourful feathers, which the children thoroughly enjoyed. These activities gave them the chance to practise their cutting, painting and fine motor skills while expressing their creativity.
Storytime was a cosy and engaging part of the day. Our Tales from Acorn Wood books, including Hide and Seek and Rabbit’s Nap, were favourites. Our Little Forest Folk-ers loved lifting the flaps, exploring the stories and taking turns reading together. One child took on the role of “book protector,” keeping a close eye on their favourite stories, which added a playful sense of responsibility to the session
