What a wonderful week we’ve had enjoying the beautiful sunshine and celebrating Earth Day! The warm weather created the perfect setting for a day full of outdoor learning, creativity, and meaningful experiences with nature.

This week, one of our biggest highlights has been our journey back to the Jurassic period. The children became budding explorers as they set off into the forest to search for dinosaur tracks. They discovered a range of prints, from the fierce T-Rex to the enormous brontosaurus

The children took part in several beautiful Easter crafts. They carefully cut and painted ducks, mixing yellow, white and brown paints to design their own unique chicks. Once the paint had dried, they finished their creations by adding colourful feathers, which the children thoroughly enjoyed. These activities gave them the chance to practise their cutting, painting and fine motor skills while expressing their creativity.

The children have settled quickly into the forest, exploring, playing and learning together. Their curiosity, creativity and energy have been a joy to watch as they dive into our Easter-themed activities.

Storytime was a cosy and engaging part of the day. Our Tales from Acorn Wood books, including Hide and Seek and Rabbit’s Nap, were favourites. Our Little Forest Folk-ers loved lifting the flaps, exploring the stories and taking turns reading together. One child took on the role of “book protector,” keeping a close eye on their favourite stories, which added a playful sense of responsibility to the session

.This week has been full of outdoor adventures, creative discoveries and imaginative play, giving the children countless opportunities to explore, learn and have fun together.

It’s been a lovely week, with dry and sunny spells brightening our time in the forest. The children have been learning about different celebrations, exploring both Ramadan and Lunar New Year through lots of creative activities. 

What an incredible week it has been in the forest! The children have been busy exploring, learning and creating, making the most of the sunshine and the great outdoors.

Our Winter Olympics theme has brought a week full of exploration, creativity, and meaningful learning experiences. The children have fully embraced the spirit of teamwork, perseverance, and imagination as they engaged in a wide range of activities designed to inspire curiosity and confidence.

Another fantastic week as we launched our exciting new topic all about the Winter Olympics, packed with creativity, movement, imagination and hands-on learning.

Early in the week, they explored art inspired by the skies above us. Using mixed colours, they painted stormy scenes with different shades of white and purple. Thick paint was swirled across the paper to represent strong winds, encouraging the children to think about movement, weather and expression through art.

What an adventure-filled week we have had in the forest. The children’s imaginations carried us on journeys far and wide, filled with exploration, teamwork and plenty of outdoor fun.

It has been so wonderful to welcome everyone back into the forest and kick-start the new year together.

children discussed the 8 days of Hanukkah and began making their potato latkes (a traditional Hanukkah treat). First, they shredded the potatoes, then the onion before adding a bit of flour, 1 egg and some salt. Then, they built and tended to the fire before firing off the potato pancakes! They were deeeeeelish! Shoutout to the little chefs!👨🏻‍🍳

We’ve had a truly wonderful week in the forest, filled with festive creativity, hands-on learning and plenty of seasonal excitement. 

What a memorable week it has been for our little learners, full of creativity, storytelling, teamwork and imaginative adventure across the forest and the clubhouse.

After a lot of interest in fairytales, our week began with a touch of magic as the children set out to create their own mystical wands. With excitement in their eyes, they gathered sticks scattered across the forest floor. Each child then selected vibrant strings and ribbons, wrapping them around the sticks with great care and creativity.
