Morden - ⭐️ Our Real Life Easter Chick Hatch 🐣

Our Week in the Forest

Happy Friday everyone!

This week has been especially exciting here at Little Forest Folk Morden. Every year around this time, we receive a special delivery of chicken eggs, and for two weeks we get to watch as the chicks peck and crack their way out into the world. It’s been a wonderful experience for our adventurers. They’ve loved watching the chicks cuddle together to keep warm and seeing their feathers grow soft and fluffy. Even more special has been the opportunity to gently handle them, showing such care and using their “kind and gentle hands” when giving them cuddles. 🐣

We’re so excited to continue sharing our forest with them for another week! 🐥

Following on from last week, our focus has been Expressive Arts and Design. The children have had a fantastic time experimenting with colours and exploring different creative techniques. A particular favourite was spray painting using recycled spray bottles filled with dyed water, they transformed a large white sheet into a vibrant piece of art. By tying sections of the fabric and then releasing them, they created beautiful, flower-like patterns 🌼

To finish the week, we’ve been working together on a sign for our eco school food drive. Painting wooden planks and adding handprints has been a lovely collaborative activity, bringing everyone together.

It’s been such a joyful week here in Morden and we’re already looking forward to more adventures and fun next week.

Have a lovely weekend everyone! ☀️
