Putney Heath - Eco-Friendly Adventures

What a brilliant week it’s been under the trees! Our Little Forest Folk-ers have been busy with hands-on fun, eco-friendly adventures and plenty of laughter in the sunshine.

This week, our explorers reflected on all they’ve achieved during our year-long eco project. With their usual enthusiasm, they rolled up their sleeves and got to work caring for their environment. Armed with litter pickers, they helped tidy up both our forest camp and Putney Heath - showing incredible care for their community and the creatures who share it.

Our little learners continued their love of mark making, this time with an eco twist! Using recyclable materials and spare fabrics, they created colourful collages full of texture and imagination. It’s been wonderful to see how thoughtful and resourceful they’ve become with reusing materials in such beautiful ways.

One of the week’s highlights was making bird seed bombs with flour, seeds, water and a touch of honey. The children took them down to the “big lake” to feed the ducks, geese and even a few curious crows. The baby ducks and goslings were a huge hit - our forest educators were just as enchanted watching the children marvel at the tiny swimmers gobbling up treats!

As the temperatures rose, so did the excitement for water play! Buckets, scoops and muddy puddles transformed into a world of splashing, pouring and pie-making. Mud pies were definitely the fan favourite and the laughter echoing through the forest was delightful.

Have a lovely, restful weekend - and don’t forget the sun hats for next week!
