Our Week in the Forest
The start of term has welcomed a change in the recent weather we have been having, but this has meant that puddles are back!! We have loved getting back into our wellies and making the biggest splashes possible.
We have made rivers by pushing the water down hills, added the rain water to our mud kitchen recipes and used it to test out our fine motor skills with collecting items from the puddles.
The children have been using all things autumn from the forest to create delicious mud kitchen recipes. We have been following instructions to collect the right amount of items and adding them in, everything from conkers to golden leaves!
We have also been doing a lot of storytelling this week with the children being able to create a comic strip story. There was a long strip of large paper with different boxes for the children to add in their own pictures. We used paint and pens to create different images.
There has also been lots of medical play as we look at World First Aid day next week. The children have had lots of opportunities to help a teddy bear with some injuries, they used a cardboard cut out with “injuries” and clean them up and also a chance to use tweezers to remove “splinters” from a cardboard person. There have been so many different medical games for the children to take part in and enjoy!
Another amazing week, and a fun start to the new academic year in the forest. We are ready for lots of fun adventures!
