Our Week in the Forest
Hello everyone!
This week in the forest our intent has been physical development! We have been running and jumping through the forest and beyond! We’ve also been spending a bunch of time getting creative and learning about the colours in nature!
We started the week with a super exciting adventure walk, the children were so excited to see construction machines on the roads as we walked out to the forest and they were full of questions about what each type of vehicle is called and what they do! We had our snack out in nature and then went to share some food with the ducks - while we were there we even spotted a pair of herons!
Another activity that the children really loved this week was planting daffodils in our home made planters at the back of the forest and we are all excited to see them bloom!
We’ve been having lots of conversations about seasons this week as many of our Little Forest Folk-ers have been noticing the leaves changing from green to yellow as autumn is now fully upon us!
To help build those all important physical development skills, we have been encouraging all the children to take part in a bunch of exciting activities, making crowns for fine motor skills and bowling and relay races for the gross motor skills! As many of the older children left at the end of summer, it has been amazing seeing the little ones from last year take their spots as the leaders of the forest and helping our new lot of little ones!
This intent has really made us see the huge leaps everyone has made since last year! Well done all! 👏 💚
