Our Week in the Forest
Spooky season has arrived and we are not scared! This week, we welcomed our holiday campers, who had a fang-tastic time with our Little Forest Folk-ers! πΏππ»
On Monday, we dared to walk into the forest and spy all the creatures that are getting cosy in their secret and dark dens. We built a nest using natural resources and hid it in the most spooky spot as an early Halloween cosy treat for the first feathery friend who finds it! πͺΉπͺΊπͺΆ
Tuesday was as windy as in the βRoom on the Broomβ story, but we kept calm and carried a wand! Whoosh! Indeed, we dared to sneak into the story as we spotted some of the characters in our forest! A black crow, the palace cat and a green parakeet were crossed off from our list. We were inspired by such a popular and heartwarming story about lovely friendship and terrific teamwork and so our Little Forest Folk-ers and holiday campers made their own magical wands! We also made room on our handmade broomstick for all our friends who joined us for a spooktacular ride! π§Ήπ§ππββ¬
Wednesday was as rainy as it could be, but we didn't find any frogs in the pond. Instead, we turned ourselves into toads with waterproofs, played in the rain and jumped in every puddle we found! It was toad-ally fun! We also have a sticky spider web, made out of a hula hoop with a shiny cobweb made with sticky tape. The bravest and most curious children picked the coloured pom-poms up using the tweezers and stuck them into the spider web, working out to guess and follow the correct sequence of colours. What a super maths challenge activity and scary and colourful trap at the same time! π·οΈπΈοΈπ
During this week, we had face-painting sessions and our little explorers chose the most boo-tiful and spook-acular looks! From magical tigers to scary spiders and roaring lions, we ran freely in the open green area where we also dared to play 'What's the Time', 'Spiderman', 'Mr Lion or Mrs Tiger?' Indeed, this week has been lunchtime in our mud kitchen every day. We had a witch cauldron and our little chefs worked together to make the most terrifying βmealsβ using wiggly worms and ghostly leaves! Lunch was βservedβ by our creepy crew around the pretend campfire! ...Yucky! πͺ±π²π§ββοΈπ©βπ³π§βπ³
What better way to finish our Halloween Camp than carving our own pumpkins? On Friday, we turned the pumpkins into a bug hotel, and everyone collaborated to decorate the doors and windows of every floor. We were open for the whole day and all creepy-crawlies were welcome! ππ·οΈπͺ±πͺ²
