Sculpting, painting and illustrative skills have filled our forest this week as our wonderful adventurers have been super creative in how they have been expressing their art in different forms.
We have had some amazing paintings using different materials. One example, with the aim to enhance our little fairy forest garden, saw our Little Forest Folk-ers collect a variety of stones and decorate them in a wonder of colours, even adding some sparkles (which is always important when making something for fairies of course!)
Another creative way our artists have been painting is through using blackberries. Mixing ripe blackberries from around our forest and a little water, we got to experiment with natural paints. This was so much fun and our little explorers ended the activity with bright purple hands!
Experimenting with colours is something that has come naturally this week with our theme of expressive art and design. Our little ones have done this in various spaces within the forest, including the mud kitchen. Using coloured water; yellow, blue, red and green, they were able to mix these together and see what other possible colours they could create.
Later in the week we had an educator-led activity where we got to have some fun with face painting. This is always something the children look forward to, as it allows them to take on whatever characters they’d like. We had a couple of leopards, dragons, frogs and a personal favourite: Lightning McQueen! KACHOWW.
This week has been amazing, focusing on arts has allowed us to see all the different ways our adventurers are creative and we all had so much fun encouraging this aspect of expression.
That’s all from us at Little Forest Folk Morden this week & we hope you all have a wonderful, restful bank holiday weekend!
