There is a saying at the skovbørnehave in Denmark that there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes, and our children having been living proof of this during the week...

It has been lovely to see all the children again full of energy and excitement at the beginning of the new year, along with some new little forest folk who have started with us this week.

The children have brought an early Spring feeling to the forest this week through the blossoming of their friendships, the colourful ringing of their laughter among the trees and the growth of their imaginative play and learning in the nursery.

But not having the time to build everything this week the children opted for stick people, and what incredible creations the children produced. This week was their first introduction to using some traditional hand tools and their intense concentration, patience, persistence and creativity resulting in the most amazing stick people.

Our superheroes returned to the forest this week for more adventures, they encountered invading pirates that had sailed across the lawn, secret caves among the trees and discovered magical wands on the forest floor..

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s SUPER FOREST FOLK!

The children donned capes, masks and headbands this week as they saved the world, one forest at a time.
