What an exciting and imaginative week we've had at Little Forest Folk Wimbledon!

This week's intent centered around music, imagination, and storytelling and our little ones fully embraced every magical moment.

We kicked off the week with a wild goose chase as everyone searched high and low for the Genie's magic lamp from Aladdin. The adventure took us all around the woodland before the little ones finally discovered it hidden behind a den near the Train Tree Meadow. That sneaky Genie certainly made us work for it! The excitement sparked wonderful storytelling, teamwork and plenty of imaginative play.

The musical fun continued throughout the week as the children explored dressing up in a variety of costumes, transforming themselves into their favourite characters while requesting well-loved songs such as Chicken Banana and Let It Go. Later in the week, our educators supported the children in making their own microphones using toilet roll tubes and tin foil. Before long, the woodland was alive with pop stars, rock stars, DJs, and enthusiastic performers, with the pallets becoming the perfect outdoor stage!

There were countless opportunities for everyone to enjoy a good boogie, sing favourite songs together and revisit familiar nursery rhymes with actions. These shared musical experiences were especially valuable for our youngest two-year-olds, supporting their developing communication and language skills while building confidence through singing, movement, and repetition.

To round off such a fantastic week, our budding chefs enjoyed not one but two delicious cooking activities. First, they made homemade blackberry jam, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed at snack time. Then, inspired by Wimbledon, the little ones prepared a tasty vegan strawberries and cream treat. It was a huge success, and safe to say there were lots of happy smiles all around!

A massive thank you to everyone who came to the graduation party. It was a lovely send off for our leavers and an excellent opportunity for everyone to socialize. And to our sessional children, it has been a beautiful term with all of you - HAGS (have a great summer)!!
