Our Week in the Forest!
This week has seen a real difference in weather from the week before, but with our rain coats and boots back on we have had so much fun in the forest! The rain has given us opportunities to explore and discover new ways to transport the water around. Using cups and gutters, our little explorers have enjoyed finding ways of emptying one puddle into another, thinking critically and using what they already understood whilst exploring what they didn’t. Using team work and communication they solved the task and seeing the water drain down hill gave everyone a great sense of pride!
Sticking with our communication theme, our Little Forest Folk-ers were set a challenge of programming a ‘bee bot’. We took turns to talk together as a group to direct Jordan which buttons to push to help the robot avoid the obstacles.
Some old telephones were also brought to the forest this week and the children have been using them to ‘place orders’ in the mud kitchen. Fire tea has been very popular again this week!
Our butterflies are now ready to go out into the world - the children have become very excited to watch them fly away to start their own journey.
What a lovely week in the forest, see you next week for some warm weather!
