What a wonderfully sunny week we've had! With temperatures soaring, our intention this week was all about staying cool, hydrated, and having lots of fun while based at the Scout Hut.
The little ones enjoyed a variety of activities centred around water and ice play, helping everyone keep comfortable during the hot weather. Without a doubt, the paddling pool was the week's favourite activity! Before any splashing began, the children worked together to establish rules and safety measures, demonstrating fantastic teamwork and responsibility. Once everything was agreed, the fun could begin! There was plenty of jumping, splashing and laughter, with happy giggles echoing throughout the day.
We also spent time creating some delicious treats to help us stay refreshed. On Monday, the children prepared cucumber and lemon water, carefully chopping cucumbers and squeezing fresh lemon juice into their bottles. They thoroughly enjoyed making their own drinks and loved tasting the results. Later in the week, our Little Forest Folk-ers made squash ice lollies, which were the perfect way to cool down during the heatwave. To round off the week, they created both dairy and vegan chocolate ice pops to enjoy in the afternoon - these may well have been the most popular treat of all!
Another highlight of the week was exploring our inflatable globe together. The children took turns finding countries connected to their families, places where our educators come from, and destinations they have visited on holiday. This sparked lots of wonderful conversations about different places around the world and helped us celebrate the diversity within our nursery community.
Reminder: Parents' Evening dates will be sent out next week via EY. Please keep an eye out so that you can book a slot with your child's key person.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend, and we look forward to seeing everyone next week!
