Winkworth - Fairy Day!

What a warm week in the forest it has been at Winkworth, but thankfully in our camp there has been some shelter from some nice shady trees and a lovely breeze coming through!

We explored fairy day which meant we all got to put on our magical fairy wings and as we flew through the forest we felt the breeze through our wings. We also enjoyed some fun crafting activities, decorating some fairy doors as well as using toilet roll tubes to make some little fairy houses.

With the weather being so warm we have had lots and lots of different water activities available. We had some gutter runs where the children could pour water down and watch it go all the way to the bottom. We also had some shoes and socks splashing as well as enjoying the sprinkler in the afternoon to cool off. Our Little Forest Folk-ers really enjoyed the sprinkler, as it gave them a chance to not only cool off but also work out which way the sprinkler was going and when it was going to reach them.

We have also enjoyed some ice play. Ice and paint were provided, and our little ones had a wonderful time painting the ice to see the colour change as well as rescuing some small world bugs who had been trapped inside.

All week we have had a very popular water slide at camp, which was made out of a tarp and some pallets. Lots of fun was had as our little adventurers poured more water on it for each other as they went down.

For a nice calm activity we dived into some tie-dying. The children used their motor skills to tie the elastic bands around the t-shirt before lots of talk about colour as they added the different colours from the bottles. It was lovely to see their happy faces as we took off the bands when they had dried to reveal their finished product.

Everyone also enjoyed some iced watermelon to keep us cool which we all found very refreshing!
