What a lovely week in the forest! Summer has brought beautiful weather along with lots of insects, bugs and birds which we have enjoyed spotting while out on our walks.
One of our favourite activities this week was shaving chalk to make our own diy paint as this gave us the opportunity to learn how to use new tools that we hadn’t used before and get creative with the resources we had. We then kept cool by using our paint to decorate ice cubes and watched how the colours melted and mixed to create a galaxy-like art piece.
We also got crafty and created some magical wooden flowers. We used our drills to make some holes in our wood cookies and then hand picked the colours we wanted our flowers to be. Using our fine motor skills, we threaded the ribbon through the holes and watched as the ribbon flapped in the breeze.
We flew around the world and landed in Canada this week, learning about the animals that live there and where to find it on a map. This helped us explore a part of the world that we haven’t learnt about before.
We finished the week with Alice in Wonderland. We chased the rabbit through the forest and jumped down the hole and landed in a world of cards, hearts and tea parties. We have had an adventurous sunny week in the forest and have learnt all about our world. We are looking forward to another beautiful week next week! ☀️
