Winkworth - Little Forest Folk Olympics!

We have experienced a real mix of weather this week, this meant our Little Forest Folk-ers had to be prepared for all weather in their backpacks before heading off into the forest.

This week has seen the first Winkworth Olympics. We have had so many different activities for the children to enjoy. There was the bean bag toss, where the children had to use their gross motor skills to throw the coloured beanbag into the correct coloured hoop. Once they had thrown all the bean bags they could use the tape measures to measure how far they went as well as adding the numbers together to gain a total of points.

They also had a long jump activity, here the children ran as fast as they could and then jumped into the jumping zone. All their friends stood on the side cheering them on and then when they had landed they added a marker. This meant when everyone had had a turn we could see who jumped the longest distance.

Everyone joined in a team activity of parachute games too. They all held onto the sides and joined in some number games where they had to wait for their number to be called and run underneath it to the other side.

As well as all this, we all enjoyed balancing some toy ducks on floating leaf boats. Lots of fun was had balancing them and then seeing if we could add more water before they fell off.

To finish the week off we had some balancing beams out where the children could climb and balance to the other side and ring the bell when they got there.

We have also made our Daddy’s a keepsake for Father’s day. Each child posed with the letters to spell out Daddy which were printed at the top of the card and underneath were some questions we asked them about their daddy like his name, favourite colour, what you love to do with your daddy, how old he is etc.

It’s been a very lovely week, we can’t wait for more adventures after the weekend!
