We’ve been bursting with excitement and now that it’s the Queen’s birthday and the official announcement day, we are absolutely delighted to finally share with you the news that Little Forest Folk has been given the royal seal of approval.

Well, this weekend was the long awaited Nursery World Awards! It was a fabulous event and we were delighted to be recognised in such a large industry such as the early years to be one of the industry leaders.

We have read lots of stories, have played lots of balancing games and the general fascination with our rope play and our pulley systems continues with lovely collaborative and creative play occurring especially around the pulley system...
A rainy day isn't something to get sad about - it's an opportunity to catch rain water in our mouths, jump in muddy puddles and take advantage of the fun opportunities nature has for rainy day play!! :-)
Out in the forest it's been a beautiful week full of gorgeous sunshine. Who would even guess we are in October? How much more satisfying is the sun on your face in Autumn rather than Summer, when you feel constantly grateful for the unseasonably warm weather...
Our half term holiday camps are coming up, during which time we are making a one time only exception to our usual requirement for minimum 2 days booking of places for our full day Halloween spook-tacular!

This week we welcomed the lovely Nikki to our Little Forest Folk team. A former teacher who has decided the fun of forest school and outdoor education totally outweighs the often huge amounts of time spent in schools on paperwork, Nikki has a great deal of experience to bring to the team...
It's almost holiday camp time again. We can't believe how quickly the year is racing away from us. Our October holiday camps will run from Monday 26th October to Friday 30th October. We will be having our usual fun in the forest...
Creating new menus for the nursery is always fun, especially with the change of the seasons providing us with fantastic new ingredients at their best...
Exciting news is that our incubator and eggs have been delivered today! Over the next 2 weeks we shall be learning all about the miracle of life when we take great care of our eggs and watch our little chicks slowly start to emerge from their eggs and hatch out into the world.
What a lovely week. The temperatures have picked back up again and we've had lots of lovely sunshine to accompany the early signs of Autumn in the forest...
