We’ve been bursting with excitement and now that it’s the Queen’s birthday and the official announcement day, we are absolutely delighted to finally share with you the news that Little Forest Folk has been given the royal seal of approval.
Following our being selected by Tatler as being one of the finest nurseries in the nation last month, we are now delighted to share with you an article written about Little Forest Folk by a journalist who visited us in our Wimbledon setting a few weeks ago.
Well, this weekend was the long awaited Nursery World Awards! It was a fabulous event and we were delighted to be recognised in such a large industry such as the early years to be one of the industry leaders.
‘Wouldn’t we all secretly like to be Little Forest Folk?' We are incredibly excited and proud to be included once again in the prestigious annual Tatler Nurseries Guide.
Holiday Camps This week saw the return of holiday camps, which are always such a lovely experience! It really is heart-warming to see our little forest folk-ers being so welcoming to all the new children (plus some familiar faces!).
The children noticed a change in our environment this week with daffodils popping out of the ground, and flowers starting to bloom on some of the bushes.
Everywhere you look during this transitional stage between winter and spring you see change. Being in the forest everyday you see the change of weather from freezing cold at points this week, to revitalising sunshine, which has a huge influence on the environment we learn in every day.
The windy day early on in the week provided us with perfect conditions to make kites. The children attempted to tie their own knots in the string and took their creations to the skies.
This week the forest has been full of gadgets and gizmos. After having sawn some tree cookies last week, a child remarked that he loved using the tools and couldn’t wait to make something he could play with.
What a creative week in the forest we’ve had! The children have been fully engaged in role play that has connected our forest base to the surrounding forest.
Another exciting week has come to an end at LFF Chiswick.
Our children became entrepreneurs when they opened and ran a successful beauty parlour and hair salon, complete with (literal) mud masks and curling wands made from sticks.
It has been another fantastic week here. We have had more children settle into our environment and they have all been a fantastic addition to our Little Forest Folk Wandsworth squad!
Move over, Vincent Van Gogh! The children of Fishpond Woods are preparing to steal your crown! This week in the forest we saw an increased interest in using paints in lots of very creative ways.
This week resilience and resolve has been at the fore. It has been a week of tough weather that has really showed the children’s strength of character.
