We’ve had a fantastic week in the forest! The children adapted so easily to the weather changes this week! It began with a wet day, perfect for finding puddles to jump in, making water slides and super delicious soups and ice creams in the mud kitchen.
There’s been lots of focus on ‘racing’ and ‘cars’ in the forest this week! Lots of the children have been really interested in making ‘ramps’ and ‘tracks’ for the toy cars and tractors that we play with.
We ended last week with some magnificent rain which did not stop all day! This made for some very muddy play and an excellent natural resource for the mud kitchen. The children made sure to collect every drop of water from the tarps using the pots and pans and used this in their mud kitchen fun!
This week we have had a wonderful bunch of budding chefs in the forest. With the fresh mud back within the forest from all the rain we have had it was the perfect time to add a new item to our mud kitchen. The humble ice-cream scoops which have proved to be the most popular item ever.
As the rain poured on Monday, the children discussed what they enjoyed about the rain. "I like to stick my tongue out and catch it", and, "It's good for the flowers" were amongst the many answers.
Whenever our children walk into the forest, they will always find something new and exciting to point out. It could be some new flowers on the meadow, or a tree that has some bugs on it in the mud kitchen. No matter what it is, our Little Forest Folk-ers will always find the amazement in it.
Oh what a nice week we have had in our forest! We have channelled our inner artist, practiced our storytelling and relaxed in the warm weather like never before.
Our Little Forest Folk-ers have been so creative in the forest this week. The morning set up has inspired the children to tackle obstacle courses, whether there where bridges or trains, houses, or offices!
We’ve had loads of beautiful moments in the forest this week, lucky us! On Monday, we had Joe join us from Liberty Woodland School. He bought his guitar, and lots of fun songs with him. The children were so excited to hear their favourite songs from The Lion King, Paw Patrol, and Moana!
We ended last week with an exciting adventure to the meadow in the morning. Here, the children had the opportunity to scatter their wildflower seed balls that they had made previously in the week.

This has been a week of adventure walks! We have been back to areas we have not been in a while and the children were amazed by how much the forest has grown since they were last in those spots. Our little ones were able to engage in some amazing conversations about seasons and growth.
We have had such a wonderful week! We started off at our ‘river camp’. We knew that with the wet weather over the past few days and scheduled rain still to come, that our favourite mud site would be perfectly prepared for some brilliant wet weather fun!
What an amazing week we have had! Our Little Forest Folk-ers have been so happy and relaxed, enjoying this gorgeous weather. It has also been the perfect conditions to look for lady birds, bumble bees and other little beast on our way to camp.
What an amazing week at Morden we’ve had! All this lovely warm weather has brought out some brilliant and creative water play this week; the potion bottles have been filled with magic liquid, the watering cans have never been so busy, and we’ve even made our own wishing well!
We ended last week with some glorious rain which you know is very popular here at Putney Heath and the children embarked on an adventure around our beautiful forest. Along the adventure the children came across a big grizzly bear and they had to run away quickly before it ate them.
