Everyone at Wimbledon has been super busy this week with a mixture of games and activities. We have made mud volcanoes, used our muscles to practice hammering nails, and even saved a bee! There has been something new and exciting each day, explored by every child in the forest.
Chiswick - Becoming Firefighters!
Fulham - A Giraffe Called Gary
Morden - "The Sun and Water Feed the Veggies!"
Putney Heath - All About Planting!
Twickenham - Building Houses, Bridges, Boats and Sunbeds!
Wandsworth - Wandsworth Turns 6!
Wimbledon - 'Aye, Aye, Captain!'
Chiswick - Embracing Nature's Wonders!
Fulham - An Amazing Stay and Play Week!
Morden - A Sensory Walk!
Putney Heath - "Buzzy Bees!"
Twickenham - Sunshine, Rain Showers and Healthy Eating!
Wandsworth - Goldilocks and The Three Bears!
What have we done to deserve such glorious weather this week!? On Monday, we moved our setup around at Paradise Gardens, to allow for activities to take place in the shadier parts of the gardens. We enjoyed swinging on a tree swing underneath one of the big trees! To encourage fair sharing, we created a pretend ticketing system, which allowed the children to understand whose turn it was, and whose turn it would be next, this meant that everyone had an equal amount of turns on the swing.
Wimbledon - Aeroplanes and Ice Adventures
Chiswick - Magical Dinosaur Eggs
Fulham - Face Painting, Counting & Flowers
It has been another wonderful week in the forest. The weather has been, like football, a game of two-halves, with cloudy mornings replaced by sunny afternoons. This is soon to change as we approach much warmer days next week. Please remember to pack a full water bottle and sun hat in your little ones’ bags. We will re-apply sun cream to all children with permission but do ask all families to apply some before arriving at the forest.
Morden - Bird Feeders, Finding Letters & Fire Circles
Putney Heath - Yo ho ho….
Twickenham - A Trip To The River!
What a week we have had, learning about lots of different animal habitats and how we can look after where the animals live. With the bugs and birds in the forest, the children have been making their own bird feeders, revamping the bug hotel with nice new wooden logs, as well as leaving out yummy seeds and mealworms and little water bowls all around for the animals so they can stay hydrated in this very lovely sunny weather.
