We’ve been bursting with excitement and now that it’s the Queen’s birthday and the official announcement day, we are absolutely delighted to finally share with you the news that Little Forest Folk has been given the royal seal of approval.
Following our being selected by Tatler as being one of the finest nurseries in the nation last month, we are now delighted to share with you an article written about Little Forest Folk by a journalist who visited us in our Wimbledon setting a few weeks ago.
Well, this weekend was the long awaited Nursery World Awards! It was a fabulous event and we were delighted to be recognised in such a large industry such as the early years to be one of the industry leaders.
‘Wouldn’t we all secretly like to be Little Forest Folk?' We are incredibly excited and proud to be included once again in the prestigious annual Tatler Nurseries Guide.
At the start of the week the whooshing wind was perfect for kite flying! The gusts created glee across the plain of the bowling field as creations flapped and fluttered around us all!
This week we have been celebrating Chinese New Year in the forest. On Tuesday we all had the opportunity to come in dressed in something red, a symbol of luck and happiness.
We kickstarted our week by going on a long walk around the Chiswick gardens. We were so eager to show our new staff members the beauty our forest holds.
What a wonderful week it’s been! We’ve had wonderful mornings with the children walking to the forest holding their hands and singing, or just admiring the landscape as it continues to change in shades of brown and green.
We’ve had a lovely week of creative play and activities at our Morden forest! One morning, the children discovered some crocodiles who needed help to look after their teeth!
The slightly warmer weather this week has certainly brought some new rich learning experiences in the forest, with the children eager to settle at the creative table or getting stuck into role play in various different wonders.
Whilst the weather may have been milder this week, we have been reminded that it is the deep mid-winter by the many scurrying squirrels snuffling around for food in the leaves all around us.
Once again it has been a fabulous week in the Wimbledon forest. The weather continues to improve, and the forest just keeps on providing incredible learning opportunities.
Chiswick’s gardens were full of sunlight and frost this week, coating Hogarth House in glorious rays. The suns magic on our site illuminates the buildings and structures, bathing them in its glow.
We’ve had such an incredible week in the forest! Our Little Forest Folk-ers had so many exciting activities and games to keep them active, warm and happy whilst learning beautiful things about the world around them.
We ended last week with a super sunny day on the meadow where the children embarked on a special stickman hunt. The children were given clues by one of our educators and they worked together to find the different coloured stickmen.
The winter’s sunshine has blessed us with its presence this week in the forest, providing plenty of magical experiences for the children and educators.
After a very short first week it was so lovely to be out and about and to see our wild explorers reunite again. It has been lovely to hear about our busy Christmas holidays and all the far faraway places we have visited during this break.
What a fantastic week it’s been in the forest! The misty mornings and sunny afternoons kept offering cues to the children to follow and develop their senses. The warm breath coming out of their mouths into the cold air, made dragons and steam trains come to life!
As we came into the forest this week, we found a super cool dinosaur town set up for us to explore! We have lots of little wooden houses that have been set up in one of the activity boxes, with ramps and tunnels for the children to put in different places!
