Fulham - Frogs at Fulham!

So we come to the end of another amazing week here in our Fulham forest.

At the beginning of the week the children had a wonderful time with a great focus activity of making play dough from scratch! This was an amazing activity for promoting all areas of learning, mainly focusing on developing our communication and language skills by speaking about the different textures and improving our maths skills by using measuring jugs and cylinders to pour the correct amount of water needed. By using 3 simple ingredients of; water, flour and oil, some great batches of play dough were formed!

To keep cool and refreshed this week here in the Fulham forest some frozen melon slices went down a treat!

As well as taking regular adventure trips to the fountains and enjoying some great water sprays at the taps our children enjoyed running around under the sprays of water to keep cool.

An awesome potion station encouraged our little ones to turn into the best potion makers and using a combination of natural oils and coloured powder some great magical spells were cast upon us here in the forest, with some children even turning the educators into frogs 🐸

Recycling and reusing some plastic eggs from Easter time, our little adventurers came up with the most amazing suggestion of transforming these into little treasure capsules. Everyone drew special pictures on paper and once placed in the eggs we went around camp hiding them and then had all the fun giving each other clues to help find them.

The children this week have also enjoyed some great wooden structures which have been built on camp, such as an aeroplane one day and a boat another. These structures are wonderful at enabling our little explorers’ imaginations as they inspire incredible role plays which the educators have had the best time taking a step back from and watching and allowing the children to lead the role play games, this worked really well this week and was wonderful to witness and watch.

One of the palace gardeners was kind enough to bring one of the tractors to the camp this week and each of our Little Forest Folk-ers was super excited as they were allowed to have a turn sitting on it whilst it was on, but at a stand still 🚜

As our week ends and another is about to begin we are excited to see all the adventures and learning opportunities our Fulham children will experience next week in the forest 🌳
