Putney Heath - Little Forest Folk-ers or Fierce Fire Fighters?

Fire fighters!

This week has been filled with lots of role play and creative activities.

At the beginning of the week the children enjoyed celebrating Pancake day! They decorated their own cardboard pancakes with different paper fruits. Some children also cooked up some delicious pancake batter in the mud kitchen and adventurously tried to flip their pancakes too!

With lots of pancakes cooking around the forest, we felt it was important for children to learn about some of the dangers around ovens and fires. The children of Putney Heath took on this challenge and transformed into fierce fire fighters, spraying water over the ‘fires’ dotted around the camp. We listened to the theme tune to Fireman Sam as we drove around the forest in our fire truck.

The children have also got stuck into the physical challenge of the swing, working on swinging themselves by moving their legs back and forth. This has been great in building their independence, strength and determination. Everyone has displayed fantastic turn taking skills, using the sand timer to time each turn.

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to seeing you next week for more adventures!
