Putney Heath - A Week Full of Tool Work Sessions!

We have had a wonderfully sunny week here at Putney Heath. What a joy it has been welcoming some familiar and also some new faces onto our holiday camps.

The highlight of our week has to be our fantastic tool work sessions, using different tools each day. Firstly, the children used the bow saws to saw some wood to create tree cookies. They then had the opportunity to decorate their cookies with chalk markers. We created some truly remarkable tree cookies.

Our next session allowed the children to use our loppers to chop some elder branches into small bead like pieces. Once the children had lots of small beads, they were tasked to make holes through each one using a tent peg. They then used their great fine motor skills to thread a piece of string through each bead.

In our final tool session, the children used some potato peelers to whittle some elder branches. The children then decorated their newly white elder branches and transformed them into magic wands!

We have absolutely loved having some holiday campers with us this week. We hope you all have an enjoyable Easter weekend, and we will see you next week!
