Wandsworth - Digging for Fossils!

Holiday camp week! Which means some bright, new and also returning faces to the forest.

The site has seen a lot of action. We've had the return of the pulley parachute, which has kept the children continuously engaged. It made for quite the competition with the young lads racing underneath it as swiftly as they could, before it dropped and caught them. It was a great game for all to get involved in. Naturally the swing has been in constant use too and we must praise the orderly queue that the children made for it throughout the week.

There has also been a lot of love for the arts and crafts area this week, with the children frequently employing the scissors and glue to spruce up their wonderful little projects.

Digging for fossils is another activity that some of our campers and regulars took to with enthusiasm. Digging into the muddy earth and collecting their curious rocks and stones into their green bags.

Our little explorers also went on a morning adventure walk. We had an enthusiastic group of Little Forest Folk-ers, and the weather was fair and easy. The children had the chance to climb over logs, splash in the puddles and talk with their friends, whilst the birds and squirrels busied themselves in the trees above. Fortunately, there was some hearty lunch being prepped for when they returned.

From there, it was back to work, enjoying all the familiar comforts of the camp! The children have been very cheerful in all their activities and we're delighted to have made sure that our guests for holiday camp have had such a great time, as well as our full-timers! We look forward to next week, until then, have a great weekend, everyone.
