Wandsworth - Tropical Forest Week!

This week, in what felt like a tropical forest week, we had some new friends come and join us! We had faces of old, as we welcomed back some returning holiday camp buddies into the forest and faces of young as we welcomed some new settling children who are joining us shortly!

We always look forward to seeing the holiday camp children, and hearing all about their big school adventures!

We started the week a bit soggy as we had some showers, but the children weren’t deterred. They decided to turn this into a game! Rain gathered on the tarps, and they attempted to jump up and knock the rain down, before seeing whose splashes hit the floor first!

On Tuesday, it was Pancake Day, and whilst we can’t have a fire in our forest, we improvised and enjoyed some delicious butterscotch pancakes around the log circle! The children loved seeing what patterns they could make on their pancake!

Wednesday was the day of love, as it was Valentine’s Day! We used some red and pink paper to create our own lovey arts and crafts. Whilst having snack time, we discussed why we love our friends. “Because she’s my best friend,” and “because he’s funny” were some of the reasons the children thought of!

On Thursday, it was a beautifully warm day, and so we decided this was perfect for an adventure walk! Our little explorers took it in turns to choose which direction to go, this allowed us to see different parts of the Common as our mini adventurers all had different ideas for which way they wanted to go!

It has been another extremely fun week in the forest, and we all look forward to seeing everyone again next week!
