Wimbledon -Science Week!

Science week has been in full swing at Wimbledon! We have had so many different activities and experiments throughout the week for our children to get involved with. We have had self-expanding balloons, soapy germ experiments and flower deconstructing. All of these have been great ways for our children to learn about new things and the world around them.

The soapy germ experiment fascinated our little explorers by showing how pepper moves away from dish soap when both are added to water, this is a wonderful way to demonstrate how washing our hands is such an important way to get rid of germs and keep us all healthy.

The self-expanding balloon allowed the children to mix baking soda and vinegar to see the reaction and watch as the balloon inflated on its own without breath!

For the flower deconstructing, we used magnifying glasses to look at all areas of the flower and learn more about the names of the different parts.

These were just a few of the activities that our Little Forest Folk-ers have loved through the week and have helped the children to learn about the different areas of science and how we can use it in everyday life.

As well as all of this scientific fun, we have also been busy going on big adventure walks to the rivers and ponds around us, spotting toads and ducks along the way and working together to build exciting obstacle courses and dens back in camp too!

A very busy and exciting week had by all!
