Wimbledon Village - Making Biscuits!

This week we had some great fun in the Forest!

Monday started with dangerously high winds, and so we adopted our Plan B, which entails taking the children on adventure walks, instead of setting up camp in the forest amongst the trees. We planned to head to a nice open part of Cannizaro Park, so once the sessional children arrived, that’s exactly what we did! We found some lovely pine trees to play in! (Pine trees are nice and safe as they don’t have big heavy branches). We weaved in and out, and thoroughly enjoyed our outing to Cannizaro park.

After lunch, Educator Dan had the idea to make some cookies, so we nicely asked Becky from the kitchen team next door if we were able to use their ovens, and then the super kind kitchen team invited us into their kitchen to mix our cake mixture together! The children loved mixing the ingredients together, before tucking into their homemade biscuit at snack time!

On Wednesday, Educator Jamie took us on an adventure walk to the fallen tree! This is an old fallen tree which is a few minutes’ walk away from our camp, the children loved balancing and navigating their way across! In order to get there, we had to cross the small bridge over the stream and at this point, we started to recite the “We’re going on a bear hunt story” as we couldn’t go over it, we couldn’t go under it, so we had to go through it!

We’ve had another fun filled week, and we hope you all have a great weekend!
