What a super week we’ve had in the forest! Despite the chilly winds we have kept busy with lots of fun activities. Hopefully as spring approaches the temperature will start to rise, and we will see lots of lovely flowers popping up around us very soon!
Morden - An Adventure Walk & St David's Day
It’s been a lovely and quick week in the forest!!
We ventured on our second adventure walk this week! Whilst heading up to the common we spotted what was around the neighbourhood and when the Little Forest Folk-ers came back, they were so excited to communicate and express what they had done and seen ‘We had a picnic on the common!’ ‘I saw a big hill and bumped all the way down!’
Putney Heath - Save Our Trees
The Little Forest Folk-ers of Putney Heath have really enjoyed reading the book "Greta and the Giants" this week, which has also inspired them to design their own environmental posters. Some of our adventurers’ designs were to encourage people to "Save the Forest" and others asked people to "please stop cutting down our trees".
Twickenham - Aliens, Dinosaurs & World Wildlife Day
Wandsworth - An Obstacle Course & A Pirate Ship
The week started with some early morning obstacle course building on the field. This began with one child identifying a wobbly length of log and asking an educator to help. In moments like these, Forest School educators scaffold in the right amount of support, so children are thinking and acting on their own discoveries.
