Morden - Dino Egg Hunt!

This has been our last week of Easter holiday camps in our Morden forest, and we’ve made the most with the company of the adventurous Little Forest Folk who have joined us! One of the main activities we’ve had this week has been ‘searching for the dinosaur egg! Our fabulous educator Charlotte created a map of our forest space for the children to follow to find the mysterious lost eggs. Once we found them, the interaction changed into a fabulous sensory activity where the children found the small dinos inside the shredded paper beds. We had so much fun finding them!

Later in the day, we ventured out into the woods of Cannon Hill Common for a big adventure walk, where we needed to find the last missing dino egg! The children’s keen senses were used to look out for the brightly coloured egg, as well as listening out for birds who may also be building their own nests and laying their own eggs. Once we found it, we found colourful letters inside, and our little explorers used their problem-solving skills to spell out ‘dinosaur!’

Later in the week, the children helped to celebrate Eid with a cooking activity using dates. They helped Maria with removing the stones from the middle, peeling the skin, and mixing them up with some milk and cocoa to make the drink nice and sweet! It’s been such a lovely opportunity to talk about Ramadan and all the different ways we can celebrate with our peers.
