Morden - Little Forest Folk Scientists!

Our Little Forest Folk-ers have been focusing on our emotions this week - we have had some lovely activities themed around recognising emotions and emotional regulation. The children loved jumping into an activity where they could play with different features on a paper face, they would talk about how they thought the face was feeling, and how they could feel better to bring their smile back! Another activity focused on emotions has been our little scientists using their fine motor skills to retrieve small cards which signify different feelings, this has sparked some lovely chats and vocabulary!

Another fun activity we had in the forest this week has been making some Valentines cards! The children have cut out different shaped hearts and independently used the glue to make a beautiful looking card for their family and friends! We are excited to roll out some more Valentines activities next week!

Finally, the children got stuck in with a brilliant construction activity, using foam and Jenga blocks as bricks to create little shelters for some toy animals. The children got really stuck in and began making lovely stories about what the animals had been up to during the day “they are soooo sleepy now, it’s time they go to bed!”

What a lovely week, we hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
