Twickenham - Carnival!

This week, the carnival was in town! We bought our tickets at the gate as we entered the forest and took part in many fun games. Our little explorers rushed to put their coordination to the test by taking part in a sponge toss challenge where we tried to throw sopping wet sponges towards the bullseye.

In another part of the carnival, the children had a hand using a lasso. We had fun swinging the rope over our heads and tossing it to try and get it as close to coloured poles as possible. Some of our little adventurers used the rope to tie big knots to tie crates together to make a rollercoaster!

Some of us who were more musically inclined took part in a hoe down, where we jumped, hopped, clapped and skipped to the music. Yeehaw! To those who were feeling theatrical, we mimed and mimicked the movement of animals from slithery snakes, slinking tigers, snapping crocodiles and flapping birds.

For our gourmands, we organised an exciting activity where we could look at and even try some exotic fruits: dragonfruit, horned melon, physalis, custard apples and guava. Some looked like red rubies while others looked mushy. Those who were feeling adventurous enjoyed sampling each fruit.

We’ll be back next week with more news of our adventures in the forest. Until next time!
