Twickenham - River walks, Fishing and Saying ‘so long’ to Wonderful Friends

To jump start National Fishing Week, we got creative with some foam pipe and string, making little fish that we could hook with our rods and even some mini boats which made for a perfect game of sink or float!! Thin and thick sticks were wrapped with colourful wool before using them to catch all kinds of pretend fish, including our educators!

The glorious sunshine this week meant we made time for a wonderful river walk, quietly splashing through and watching the sun glisten on the surface. Our Little Forest Folk-ers love water play and what better way to do it!

Ahoy there!! - A huge pirate ship made its way to the middle of our forest on Wednesday, with a big plank for the bad pirates to walk across. Our little adventurers travelled the choppy seas to find sharks, they tied knots around logs and planks of wood to drag in any treasure they came across 🏴‍☠️

This week has been full of fun as usual but also tinged with sadness as not only have we waved-off lots of our Little Forest Folk-ers to big school, we also had to say goodbye to our wonderful Celine, the children and staff are so sad to see her leave! We’ll miss the monster chases, the crafting and of course all the love she has to give. Good luck on your new adventure Celine, please come back to the forest for a visit soon!

Have a lovely weekend from all at Twickenham!
