Wandsworth - A Week Full of Adventure Walks and Exploring!

We were delighted to welcome back our sessional day families this week! We’ve also had a bitter spell of weather sneak in and join us for the week as well! We had to rejig things slightly, to ensure we were keeping our little ones as safe and comfortable as possible, so we decided it was in the best interests of the children to adopt our plan B, which meant using our indoor nursery for mealtimes with adventure walks in between. It has opened the door to new parts of the common to explore and we’ve all enjoyed seeing some new areas!

On Tuesday, we went to the Italian Gardens in Cannizzaro park. Cannizzaro park is a fantastic area connected to the common, we would highly recommend a visit! At the Italian gardens, are different sculptures and other pretty things to see and to get there we had to pass a great big pond, where we watched the water feature splash about – this was especially beautiful as the morning sun was lovely and bright, making the water glimmer and shine!

We were inspired so much by this; we went back to visit the Mediterranean gardens on Thursday. There is a walled area here, which resembles a castle, and so you can imagine the role play fun we all had whilst visiting! Knights in shining armour made an appearance, as well as drawbridges with a moat to explore, this lead to some fantastic ideas from our mini adventurers. We even found some fallen bamboo which we used in our “siege!”

We have had a great week, it has been lovely to enjoy the company of all of our returning children - we hope you keep warm this weekend and we’ll look forward for more forest fun next week!
