Wimbledon - Tool Skills & Junk Modelling

If you go down to the woods today, you’re sure of a big Wimbledon surprise! This week we have been super busy at Wimbledon doing some amazing tool work, some exciting artwork and some interesting mushroom exploring.

Our Little Forest Folk-ers have been showing some fantastic tool skills this week. We have been practicing sawing and making some mini wood cookies from broken branches we have found around our site. The children have then worked with one of our educators to use the saw to create and then decorate their cookies. We made them into wooden people, food and decorations.

We have also been busy junk modelling this week. Using lots of recycled materials, the children were able to create anything their imaginations desired. We had some heart-shaped creations, along with telescopes and butterflies. It was a great way for the children to be able to see that we can reuse items and make them into something new and amazing!

Such a wonderful week and we look forward to more adventures next week!
