Morden - New Year, New Forest Mascot!

Happy New Year from Little Forest Folk Morden!

Our first few days back have been a great chance to catch up with our friends and share stories of our lovely celebrations with our families! It's been wonderful to see how far the children's language progresses in such short times when talking about these milestones of the year. We've really enjoyed taking our time at meal times to sit with each other and give the children some lovely, calm social time with each other.

One of our favourite activities this week has been making our cool new forest mascot with the children - Vicky led a fun tool-use activity where the children could use a hammer and nails, and a circle of tree branches to make a small hedgehog model! The children followed the safety rules brilliantly and put lots of time and care into creating our mascot. We will be using our mascot in our upcoming eco-school activities, and we will be having a little meeting with the children to discuss his name, and the importance of looking after the animals - can't wait to share more with you guys!

We've also loved jumping straight back in with our fire circle, helping the educators to identity and measure the sticks which will be best used, and how to keep ourselves and our friends safe. Bring on 2024!
