Wimbledon - Ice Play and Foraged Elderflower Cordial

Wimbledon - Ice Play and Foraged Elderflower Cordial

On Tuesday, we enjoyed some exciting ice play. The children used spray bottles, squeeze bottles and little wooden hammers to melt and crack giant ice cubes into smaller pieces. It was fascinating watching the colours mix together and slowly turn into a deep purple. We also began making our very own elderflower cordial!

Fulham - Ball Play, Climbing and Navigating the Trees

Fulham - Ball Play, Climbing and Navigating the Trees

This week our children buzzed with the rhythm of dancing bees, travelling from flower to flower as they explored the wider park. Their curiosity set the pace, and what a wonderful pace it was.

Children tested their abilities in all kinds of physical challenges: running, ball play, climbing, and navigating their way under and around trees. There was a real sense of stepping out of comfort zones and challenging themselves to do a little more.

Twickenham - International Museum Day Activities

Twickenham - International Museum Day Activities

To mark International Museum Day, we turned the forest into a child-led “museum” experience. Our little explorers explored water in many different ways, experimenting with movement and flow using a range of containers and equipment. They tested floating objects they had constructed themselves and carefully watched how they travelled through the water. Water play has continued throughout the week, with the children thoughtfully gathering items to embed in water ready for a freezing experiment next week.

What an incredible week we have shared together in the forest! Across the week, the children demonstrated creativity, resilience, teamwork, curiosity and a true sense of adventure as they explored the ever-changing outdoor environment. From pirate-themed role play to musical exploration, mud kitchen creations, climbing challenges and dramatic weather experiences, every day brought exciting opportunities for learning and discovery.

Wimbledon Village - Airport Adventures and Places We Visit

Wimbledon Village - Airport Adventures and Places We Visit

This week we set up an airport in the forest. The children had great fun painting a huge cardboard plane and we also spent lots of time dancing to the continents song in the airport lounge. Whilst looking at all the flags on the bunting in the forest, we talked about the places we have visited and are going to visit. One of our little explorers said they are going to visit Vietnam and we all loved finding out what that flag looked like! We even made our own passports too!
