Putney Heath - A Touch of Magic

Putney Heath - A Touch of Magic

After a lot of interest in fairytales, our week began with a touch of magic as the children set out to create their own mystical wands. With excitement in their eyes, they gathered sticks scattered across the forest floor. Each child then selected vibrant strings and ribbons, wrapping them around the sticks with great care and creativity.

Morden - Understanding the World

This week, with a focus on “understanding the world,” we’ve had the wonderful opportunity to learn about each other’s cultures and differences. It’s been amazing to see how this has helped everyone connect, appreciate the diversity around them and recognise both our similarities and unique qualities. ⭐️

Fulham - Magic and Fascinating Stories

This week, we turned over the page and stepped into the most magical and fascinating stories and tales in the forest! With our little explorers as the main characters and a marvellous setting at Fulham Palace Gardens, we walked into the woods and let their imaginations run wild. We are so grateful to have the best scenes - from the frosty landscape illustrations to the mystery of secret characters hiding in their cosy dens ready to hibernate, it actually seems a fairy winter is about to awaken!

Chiswick - Bundles Of Fun at Chiswick!

We started the week by reading stories. Goldilocks and the Three Bears as well as We’re Going on a Bear Hunt. This led us into our drama session which took place on an adventure walk. We also went on an actual bear hunt during an adventure walk where a teddy was hiding in the forest and we had to then go find them!

Winkworth - Magic Shapes in the Forest!

Winkworth - Magic Shapes in the Forest!

We started off the week exploring the magic of shapes in the forest. The children spotted shapes in the natural environment and discussed which they liked the best. We kept warm exploring the different shapes of our obstacle course and then spent a cosy early evening making some lovely circle and star shaped Christmas tree ornaments for our nursery Christmas tree.

Wimbledon -The Magic of Winter

Wimbledon -The Magic of Winter

The magic of winter has well and truly arrived at Little Forest Folk Wimbledon and this week we had our first snow of the season! The excitement on the children's faces as the huge white flakes cascaded down was amazing! They tried to catch them on their tongues and see who had the biggest flake. We also looked at the different patterns of each flake, trying to see if we could spot any that were similar.

The clock is ticking and we have started to count the days to welcome the most wonderful season of the year in the forest! Indeed, everything is beginning to look a lot like winter – a silent forest greets every morning, creating a peaceful, calm atmosphere. We walk, run & hop with our warm layers and waterproofs on and... let it snow!

Morden - Rainy Days and Muddy Puddles

Although there was a definite chill in the air and a few rainy days, our adventurers couldn’t have been happier! They embraced the weather with enthusiasm, splashing through muddy puddles and running joyfully in the rain. ✨

During our adventure walks, our explorers gathered an abundance of leaves in all different sizes, shapes and colours. Back in the forest, they used their collections to form patterns and design their very own caterpillars. It was amazing to watch the unique sequences they each created! ✨
